Operation has the participation of the Civil Police of 14 states y DF, the Federal Police and 6 countries police authorities

Brasília, 09/04/2019 - Under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Operation Light in Childhood 5 was launched on Wednesday (4), with the objective of identifying perpetrators of abuse and sexual exploitation crimes against children and adolescents practiced on the internet.

At this stage of the operation, in Brazil and 6 countries, were executed a total of 105 search warrants for files containing content related to crimes of sexual exploitation against children and adolescents. In the national territory, the integrated operation involves the Civil Police of 14 states y DF, together with the Federal Police, with the participation of 656 police officers.

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro, the Secretary of the Integrated Operations Unit, Rosalvo Ferreira Franco; the Integrated Operations Unit Chief Operating Officer, Cesar Augusto Martinez, the Organized Crime Combating Coordinator, Wagner Mesquita, the Integrated Operations Unit Cyber Intelligence Laboratory Coordinator, Delegate Alessandro Barreto, and  Rafaella Parca, Federal Police representative will give a press conference at 10h30am at the MJSP building.

The operation is being monitored by the Integrated Center for National Command and Control (CICCN).

Operation Light in Childhood 5 is supported by the US Embassy in Brazil through the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement-ICE, providing courses, sharing best practices and training courses that subsidized the five phases of the operation.

In Brazil, the penalty for those who store such content ranges from 1 to 4 years in prison, 3 to 6 years in prison for sharing, and 4 to 8 years in prison for producing content related to crimes of sexual exploitation.
